What cameras do you provide?
The cameras we provide are all the latest generation iPod Touch. We selected the iPod Touch for its impressive camera and ease-of-use. Learn more about our cameras and how we customize them for your wedding here.
How easy to use are the cameras?
We program the cameras so that only the Camera app is accessible. This makes it incredibly easy to operate – just “Slide to Unlock”, and you’re ready to capture your event.
How many photos and videos can the cameras take?
The cameras have 16 GB of storage, more than enough to capture a day-long event or even a weekend-long destination wedding.
How long does the battery last?
The battery life is generally long enough to last through any event, though we still include a charging cord for the unlikely event that a device needs charging. Your own Apple-certified lightning cable will also work.
What happens if I lose or break a camera?
Wear and tear is covered as part of your package cost. However, we charge the repair or replacement cost for damaged or destroyed devices. If we can repair a device for less than the replacement cost, we will. For lost or destroyed devices, the the replacement cost is $199/device.
How long will it take before I receive my highlight video?
Within 2 weeks of receiving the cameras we’ll provide you with a finished draft video. You’ll be given a chance to make tweaks/minor edits (e.g. removal or addition of specific clips), after which we’ll publish the final product within 1 week. If you’re able to respond quickly, you could have the completed video within 2-3 weeks of your wedding. Just in time for the return from your honeymoon!
What edits can I make to the draft video?
Editing is mostly limited to the removal and addition of specific photos/clips. We can drop Uncle Mike’s dance moves and add that photo of you and your college friends.
When will I receive my package?
We ship all packages via UPS with a guaranteed delivery date of at least 2 days prior to your event. If you need the cameras sooner (e.g. long weekend or destination wedding), just let us know!
Do I need to sign for the package?
We understand it’s a hectic week for you, so no signature is required. However, it’s your responsibility to provide us with a safe and secure shipping address.
When do I need to send the cameras back?
Within 3 business days of your event, the cameras must be dropped off at a UPS drop-off location. If you need the cameras for longer, just let us know! If we haven’t heard from you, packages that are not dropped off to UPS within 3 business days will be subject to a $20/day fee. Packages not returned within 30 days will be subject to the replacement cost of $199/device.
How do I send the cameras back?
We include a return shipping label with every Capture It Yourself package. Within 3 business days of your event, you can drop off your package at any UPS drop off location – of which there are 4,400 across the country. You can use the UPS Locator to find the closest drop off location to you.
Can I pay a deposit to reserve my wedding date?
All orders must be placed with a deposit or paid in full to guarantee availability for your event. Not all packages are eligible for deposit-only reservations. For orders that are placed with a deposit, the balance will be charged to the card on file 30 days before your wedding date.
Are deposits refundable?
Deposits are nonrefundable, as we may have turned away another customer for the date of your wedding due to camera availability.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel up to 30 days before your event. Cancellations before 30 days are subject to forfeiture of your deposit (or 10% of orders paid-in-full). Cancellations after 30 days are non-refundable.
I see another company offers XYZ, do you offer that as well?

Is Capture It Yourself available for events besides weddings?
Absolutely! Our packaging is simple and clean, and can be customized to remove any suggestion of weddings. We’re happy to put together a custom package if you’d like. Just contact us with you specific needs.
